R&D Tax Incentive

The R&D Tax Incentive is an Australian Government program that supports companies in eligible research and development activities by offsetting some of the associated costs. It is open to all industry sectors and company sizes, providing a tax offset for R&D expenditure of up to $150 million. The program is jointly administered by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources and the Australian Taxation Office. Companies must self-assess their eligibility and register their R&D activities within 10 months of the end of their income year.
